Others see you differently than you see yourself.
We pick at ourselves and often point out the negatives, or what appears to be the negative, aspects of our bodies and our minds.
But why do we do this?
We wouldn’t bring our friends down like that (or at least I hope not), so why do we sometimes do this to ourselves? Why wouldn’t we treat ourselves with the same respect we give our friends? We need to love ourselves and respect our bodies and minds.
Even though it seems to be forgotten a lot, there’s a difference between being skinny or beautiful by societal standards and actually being healthy, happy, and beautiful in real life.
We need to learn to love ourselves first. It’s not selfish or conceited to love oneself, it’s a necessity. It’s important to take care of one’s mind and body in order to live a good life and in order to give back to the world and those around us. I believe people cannot fully love another until they have learned to accept and love themselves first.
❤ Love yourself. ❤ Love others. ❤ Spread the love. ❤
